Moles & Lesions

Mr Nakul Patel

Moles and lesions are broad clinical terms used to describe any abnormal growth, mark, or lump on the skin’s surface. Moles (nevi) are specific clusters of pigmented cells that typically appear as small, brown, or tan spots, while lesions is a “catch-all” category for any skin irregularity, including skin tags, cysts, age spots, or potentially cancerous growths. While the majority of these are benign and removed for aesthetic reasons or physical comfort (such as snagging on clothing), any lesion exhibiting changes in shape, color, or size is surgically removed and sent for pathology to rule out malignancy.
